Summary

The ‘Character Ark’ portfolio features examples of character and creature design and illustration, by film maker, Matt Westrup.

Matt has been generating content for the media industry for over 15 years. His clients have included Mars Confectionary, Smirnoff, Seat Cars, Nestle, Vodafone and Unilever.

He began his professional career as a freelance commercial illustrator before taking advantage of digital technology to break into the visual effects industry where he quickly became a highly competent 3D generalist. Working in the area of film and TV prompted Matt to make the next step in his career and he has since gone on to become an award winning film director.

As a film maker, Matt adopts a truly ‘hands on’ approach during the pre-production process. To date, he has designed all of the character elements that have featured in his directing assignments. These, along with a selection of other commissions, can be viewed in the ‘Character Ark’ gallery pages.
